    CALLING ALL REGENT PARK RESIDENTS!

    Join us for a series of free and fun events and activities taking place all summer long in and around Daniels Spectrum.

    EVENT LISTINGS

    SHOW LOVE
    This fun thematic block party includes an outdoor BBQ, board games, garage sales, arts & crafts and a DJ spinning the best summertime jams. This is a chance for people to come together and show Regent Park some love. There’s always something new, so you’re not going to want to miss it! Organized by Keeping Youth Motivated at Dixon Hall.
    DATES: Friday, July 21, August 18, 1pm to 8pm
    LOCATION: Near the Bake Oven, Regent Park (Big Park), 620 Dundas St. E. (Follow the music!)

    REGENT PARK PHOTO WALKING TOURS
    Don’t know how to fully operate your DSLR camera or figure out the photo settings on your smartphone? #Shootforpeacephotographers will take you on a journey through the changing landscape of Regent Park and show you tricks & tips to maximize the look of your images. Use the #SummerSeriesRP hashtag and we’ll share your pics on our Instagram!
    DATES: Sundays: July 30, August 13, 20 and 27, 1pm to 4pm

    CIRCUS IN THE PARK
    Every Wednesday in August, be entertained by a collection of buskers, stilt walkers and aerial performers. Want to learn how to juggle? Join us for workshops, games and lots of fun activities with Square Circle Social Circus! Don’t miss the Grande Finale on the 30th!
    DATES: Wednesdays: August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30, 6pm to dusk

    BUBBLE SOCCER TOURNAMENT
    It’s not soccer. It’s bubble soccer! Bounce your way into competition with friends, family and other community members. Interested participants must be 18+ and over five feet tall for safety reasons. Limited space available! Registration required: RPbubblesoccer@gmail.com

    THE BLOCK GAME
    What’s your favourite board game? Have a deck of cards to share? The Block Game is an outdoor games night by The Forgiveness Project that will allow you to unleash your competitive spirit on a relaxing Friday evening. Learn the basics of dominoes, card games, Jenga and other social games that require strategy. Bring a crew and or your favourite board game and tap into your competitiveness spirit.
    DATES: Fridays: July 28, August 4, 11, 25 and September 1, 5pm to 9pm

    BLOCKOBANA
    Who doesn’t love dancing in the sun? Join Blackness Yes! in Regent Park (Big Park) on Caribana Sunday as they curate an afternoon of local and international DJs. Berlin-based OSUNLADE will be on the 1s and 2s in the evening playing the best in soulful house, afrobeat and R&B music. Bring picnic items, beverages and lime with us under the sun! Shop at the local artisan tents to purchase one-of-a-kind gifts for family or friends.

    BIKE-POWERED COMMUNITY FESTIVAL
    What do you do with two tonnes of bicycle scraps? You get three artists to build a bike-powered sculpture. Bring your tools and helpCharlies Freewheels with this engineering feat.

    WASH2GIVE
    Is your car dusty from all the construction happening in the neighbourhood? Come get your car washed for free by youth from the Regent Park community initiative organized by Youth2Give.
    DATE: Saturday, August 19, 2pm to 7pm
    LOCATION: Regent Park Blvd. (on the east side of Daniels Spectrum)

    RESTORATION OF IDENTITY
    Join Toronto Council Fire Native Cultural Centre for a Pow Wow in the park. A Pow Wow is a sacred gathering of Indigenous peoples to honour the past, renew, friendships and celebrate with music, drumming, song, food, dance and storytelling.
    DATE: Saturday, August 26, 12pm to 5pm
