Getting to see these amazing cameras, this close up, in the skillful hands of great shooters … it sure sounds inviting, doesn’t it? But wait, it gets better. For the clincher, after a fabulous evening of socializing and watching great photography, you could walk away the winner of an amazing prize. Doesn’t that sound like an evening you want to be party to?
Think of it as a two-and-a-half hour professional getaway. You’ll be charmed by two Toronto Star photographers who will provide a brief but poignant point-of-view on why the 1Dx Mark II is a great tool for the working professional. After which you’re whisked away for a short break, where you can grab a bite, gab with colleagues, and then get back to watching featured photographer Miguel Jacob take the 5DS through its paces. Watching Miguel – who will be utilizing multiple fashion setups with models, props and lit with Profoto lighting units – will give you a chance to witness the remarkable medium format-like quality of Canon’s 5Ds. After the shoot, you’re welcome to stay, socialize and ask questions.

If you use a full-frame camera in your line of work, or you live for capturing great photos, this Canon event is specifically designed for you. It’s an all-pro event. The cameras are designed for pros. The presenters are pros. The lighting for the photo shoot is provided by Profoto.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Paid public parking is available in the underground lot beneath the Daniels Spectrum. The vehicle entrance is off the laneway to the south of the centre, accessible via Sackville Street just south of Dundas Street East. Parking is $5 for 8 hours and can be paid by cash or credit card. Additional paid public parking can be found in an underground lot beneath the RBC Royal Bank, just north of Dundas Street East off Regent Street.
