Closer to the Heart VI

Closer to the Heart VI is a benefit concert to raise money and awareness for the Regent Park School of Music, a non-profit music school that offers heavily subsidized music classes to at-risk Toronto kids.

Hosted by the inimitable Tyler Stewart (Barenaked Ladies), this year’s CTTH performers include: Holly Woods (Toronto), Larry Evoy (Edward Bear) and his son Cooper Evoy, Lorraine Segato, Kevin Kane (Grapes of Wrath), Hill & The Sky Heroes (Serena Ryder, Degrassi: The Next Generation),Holly McNarland and Thompson Egbo (graduate of RPSM, now a professional jazz pianist).

This stellar line-up of Toronto singers covers 2 of their favourite Canadian songs with our fabulous house band: guitarist Kurt Swinghammer (Serena Ryder, Ani DiFranco), bassist Maury Lafoy (Colin James, Jann Arden), drummer Davide Direnzo (Jacksoul, Canadian Idol) and keyboardist Michelle Willis(Hawksley Workman, Nikki Yanofsky).

From 2002 to 2006, Closer to the Heart benefits raised $20,000 for the Regent Park School of Music.
