The free opening reception for the duo exhibitions will be held at Daniels Spectrum this Friday, May 15 from 6pm – 10pm. The exhibitions are open to the public daily (Mon–Fri 8 am – 9pm, Sat–Sun 10am – 6pm) until June 26 in our Hallway Galleries.
Colin Boyd Shafer: Cosmopolis Toronto
Cosmopolis Toronto is a documentary photography project that captures and celebrates cultural diversity by featuring the portraits of people from all over the world who now call Toronto home. Each participant is photographed at a location within the GTA where they feel ‘at home’ – a second portrait features them holding an object that connects them to their past. The exhibition provides a platform from which to tell compelling stories, and bring people together from various communities and socio-cultural backgrounds.

Dan Bergeron: Faces of Regent Park
Faces of Regent Park is a series of twelve photo-based, mixed-media portraits of residents from the newly revitalized neighbourhood. These studio works on birch convey the emotion, personality and humanity of the subjects in more intimate detail through the textures of their distressed surfaces. They form the basis for a permanent public art installation of the same images in the entry plaza to Regent Park on the North side of Dundas Street.
