Developing Mixed Income and Multi-Use Communities
May 21, 2014 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
$20 – $80
In Toronto’s Priority Neighbourhoods: Regent Park, Alexandra Park, Lawrence Heights.
Come together with Toronto Community Housing and local developers Daniels, Tridel and Context to discuss the urban makeovers of Regent Park, Alexandra Park, and Lawrence Heights.
While presenting unique challenges, these urban renewal projects are setting new standards for the development of socially mixed neighbourhoods: reconnecting them back to the fabric of the city by seamlessly mixing uses, architectural styles, and income
levels within the redeveloped community.
Bud Purves, Chair, Toronto Community Housing will begin the discussion by providing an overview on the mission of Toronto Community Housing. This will be followed with presentations from three developers whose partnership with Toronto Community Housing has been instrumental in creating the desired mixed-use, mixed-income communities.
