How to be an Ally: Demystifying the Trans* Experience for Positive Allyship

July 13, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Free – $30

Are you a friend, supporter, front-line worker, or an advocate for trans individual(s)? Want to get first-hand, in-depth knowledge on how best to support trans* individual(s) in your life?
Toni Marlow Clothing and the Centre for Social Innovation are collaborating to present an introductory panel for anyone interested in getting trans* perspectives on subjects such as sex/gender definitions and different gender identities and experiences, transitioning, repercussions of being “outed,” and positive allyship. Recognizing the complex nature of intersectional identities, this panel acknowledges that there is no singular trans* experience and is meant for anyone wishing to support trans* people in a meaningful and respectful manner.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with topics close to the heart of the trans* communities, hear panelists speak and ask questions.
