July 3, 2014

Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park and Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival Presents

“I HeART Regent Park”

Daniels Spectrum is pleased to host I HeART Regent Park, an exhibition of selected works by Toronto based photographer David Zappariolli and historical photographs from Regent Park based agencies Dixon Hall and Pathways to Education. The exhibition presents a visual history of the Regent Park neighbourhood, Canada’s oldest and largest social housing project, from the past to the present. It includes visual material that illustrates the stories of the area: maps, documents, records, and archival photographs of the neighbourhood and the people that live in it. The portrait, the photo essay, and other forms for photographic expression are the tools used to tell the intimate narratives of this diverse community, itself a city within a city.

An Opening Reception will be held at Daniels Spectrum on Thursday, May 8th from 6:00pm to 10:00pm.

I HeART Regent Park is free and open to the public daily (Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday to Sunday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm) from May 1 –July 13, 2014 in the first and second floor Hallway Galleries.
