Nuit Blanche 2013 : Dreaming the Luminous Numinous!

October 5, 2013 @ 6:50 pm - October 6, 2013 @ 6:50 am

FREE

Come see the arts organizations of Daniels Spectrum collaborate once again to present a mash-up of interactive art and music-making opportunities in celebration of Daniels Spectrum’s ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! The arts organizations at Daniels Spectrum and other Regent Park organizations will present an accessible, family-friendly, community celebration throughout the night of nuit blanche.

**Come join us for cake and a toast at 9:00pm inside Ada Slaight Hall**

Projects

ArtHeart: Regent Park’s original community art centre will construct a large 3D Tunnel of Light as a canvas for interactive decoration with animated shadow puppets and live costumed participants. This interactive arts education project will provide the opportunity for participants to explore what it would take to ‘illuminate their dreams’. Participants will be able to walk through the ever-changing tunnel of light, experiencing the numinous of a collective art experience.

Regent Park School of Music: Join the Projector Jam! While The Nuit Blanche Citizen’s Band plays, the lyrics and music for familiar tunes will be projected on a large screen so the public can sing and play along on guitars, shakers, tambourines and other random instruments. All visitors and participants are encouraged to sing and play along.  Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments and/or singing voices… and whatever else they’ll need to be heard.

Regent Park Film Festival: What’s a movie but a series of still images strung together to convey motion?  The Regent Park Film Festival will celebrate the moving image by inviting all visitors to make their own stop-motion animation. Take part in the stop-animation booth and view and share your work online through the festival’s youtube page!
