Daniels Spectrum is a

community cultural hub.

It’s what you make it, and what the organizations based here make it.

Daniels Spectrum is open to the community, and it is made for a variety of cultural uses. Within these walls you’ll find dancing, art-making, singing, music playing, learning, socializing, community building, mentoring, collaborating…

Daniels Spectrum is alive with the spirit and creativity of the community every day. Come and make this your place. Take part in activities, special events and programs, and use the facility for your own gatherings.

The Community Living Room is a welcoming, vibrant space located on the first floor of Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park. Serving as a social hub, it brings together a diverse range of community members—particularly youth—event attendees, building staff, and participants from local organizations. It’s a place where people can gather to meet, eat, connect, collaborate, or simply unwind.

The primary focus of the Community Living Room is to offer an affordable venue for public programming, helping to foster connections and community engagement in Regent Park.

  • Fully subsidized venue rental for free public community events
  • Reduced rental fees for private events by Regent Park-based organizations
  • Discounted staffing costs as needed
  • In-house equipment provided at no additional charge
  • Supplemental marketing and promotional support

DANIELS SPECTRUM CAFE

Situated in the Community Living Room the Daniels Spectrum Café is operated by a Regent Park-based organization focused on local food entrepreneurs, Cafe Carousel and Bistro.

GAMES & ACTIVITY LENDING LIBRARY

The Community Living Room will feature a Games and Activity Lending Library in early 2025, designed to foster social interaction, especially for children and youth.

RESIDENT PIANO

There is a piano between the front doors of Daniels Spectrum (at 585 Dundas Street East). This piano is there to be played, and is regularly tuned. Please enjoy the music being made by those who practice informally on this piano, and come add your tunes to our musical atmosphere.

GOOD NEIGHBOUR GUIDELINES

Daniels Spectrum contains a mix of public and private spaces. We ask that all visitors respect the needs of everyone in the building, including organizational staff members and visitors. Help us make sure this remains a friendly, community space. We expect that this space will sometimes be lively, but anyone displaying disruptive behaviour may be asked to adjust their volume or actions by an ArtHubs staff member.
