The Youth Employment and Arts Education Program provides leadership, mentorship, and training to twelve local Regent Park youth annually, ages 14 to 17, in employment skills building, leadership development, job readiness, positive work habits, resume preparation, interview coaching, job search, and more. This program provides youth with a learning opportunity to adopt appropriate attitudes and behaviours needed in the workplace in an environment that challenges participants to realize their full potential. Youth receive part-time paid work within ArtHeart’s Children’s and Youth’s Arts Program to gain direct work experience and to provide opportunities for them to act as role models and leaders in their community. An additional 284 children and youth will benefit through enhanced program support that the youth bring to the Children’s and Youth’s Arts Program.
