Summer Series at Daniels Spectrum continues this July with even more free, fun and exciting events to enjoy! Grab a blanket and watch a movie under the stars, drop yourself into a hip-hop dance class, enjoy free art workshops or show your love at the Show Love community celebration. All this and more happening outside in Regent Park!
Here are the exciting events to look forward to in July!
TURN IT OUT
What does djing, hip-hop dance and a circus have in common? They’re all fun! Every Wednesday, people of all ages are welcome to drop by TURN IT OUT at the “Taste of Regent Park” market and take a DJ workshop with UforChange’s very own DJ L’Oqenz, a drop in hip-hop dance class with Stephanie Caldeira or a juggling workshop with different circus instructors. Come for the music, stay for the party!

DRAMA IN-JUSTICE
Developed and facilitated by Regent Park artist Trevlyn Kennedy, local youth (ages 14 to 18) are invited to participate in weekly drama workshops designed to build awareness around the criminal justice system through competitive court case legal battles. A community performance will take place on Friday, August 21 at Show Love in Regent Park (Big Park).

REGENT PARK INTERNATIONAL BAZAAR
Come join us for an outdoor market at Regent Park Boulevard and Dundas Street East featuring one of a kind cultural fashion items, henna and spa stations, art activities, quilting workshops and food from more than 15 different countries.

SHOW LOVE
Every Friday throughout the summer join us for fun thematic outdoor programming that includes games, BBQs, music and visual art. This is a chance for people in the community to get together and show Regent Park some love. There’s always something new so you’re not going to want to miss it!

UNDER THE STARS: MOVIES IN THE PARK
Every Wednesday, join Regent Park Film Festival as they host outdoor movies in Regent Park (the Big Park). Come between 5:30 pm and 9:00 pm for the “Taste of Regent Park” market, music, activities and a meal generously provided by the Regent Park Community Food Centre. We encourage audiences to bring their own blankets and warm clothing. Popcorn and refreshments will be available for purchase. July screenings including the following films: Dear White People (July 15), Bend it like Beckham (July 22), Boyz N’ the Hood (July 29).

ARTHEART CELEBRATES NIÁGARA ~ A PAN-AMERICAN STORY
Come join ArtHeart Community Art Centre as they celebrate the Pan-American games with fun-filled daily visual-arts workshops – the building of an Eco-Monster Sculpture to promote Aquaculture – and a free grazing event featuring Latin-American and Aboriginal cuisine – followed by a special free performance of NIÁGARA ~ A Pan-American Story in Ada Slaight Hall.
